SBCA "National Standards and Testing Program" provides classes
that teach the industry endorsed benchmark for the installation of satellite
systems.
Here's what your install
includes.
The SBCA "Satellite Broadcasting and
Communications Association" is the industry trade
organization, which
has developed the only accepted National Standards for Industry
Professional Satellite Installers who are also knowledgeable Integrators
for your whole house coax, cat 5, phone and audio/video cables, known as
"the low voltage wiring".

Here's what a
Standard Professional Installation includes:
Mounting and grounding the DIRECTV® antenna dish on an exterior wall or
roof of a single family house.
Installing up to 100 feet of RG-6 cable to the primary DIRECTV® and
additional receiver(s), when all receivers are installed and activated at time of establishing
your DIRECTV® account.
Running all coax cable(s) through one exterior and one interior wall.
Attic, crawl space or interior wall fishing is negotiated with your installer and or his
company.
Routing of cable through a standard wood frame structure or a single layer
of masonry (max. 10").
Connecting primary and all additional DIRECTV® receiver(s) to a phone jack,
if receiver is within 25 feet of phone jack.
Standard Professional Installation does not
include:
RG-6 cable over 100 feet per run.
Mounting & grounding the DIRECTV® antenna dish on any
surface of the home where a 23' ladder can not reach.
Drilling through more than 1 exterior and 1 interior wall.
Phone
jack wiring where existing service is more than 25 feet from receiver.
Providing any enhancements to existing phone system.
Connections to stereo, VCRs, and/or various audio components that are not
co-located with the DIRECTV®® receiver.
Special moldings or other cosmetic hardware used to hide exposed cables.
Non-penetrating roof mount, pole mount, or chimney mount.
Removal
and/or repair of previously mounted equipment.
Standard Dual-Tuner
DIRECTV® DVR with TiVo Professional Installation
includes:
Mounting
and grounding the DIRECTV® Dish on an exterior vertical wall or roof of a single
family home.
A dual run of up to 100 feet of premium RG-6 between the LNB and primary TV
is supplied by the installer.
RG-6 cable is installed from the LNB to 1 TV, either through an exterior
wall (standard wood frame or 1 layer of masonry) or from the customer's
basement.
The satellite receiver's remote will be programmed to work with the
customer's equipment (e.g. TV, VCR).
A connection will be made to
an existing phone jack within 25 feet of the installed receiver location.
(connection to a phone line is required for DIRECTV® system activation).
All hardware necessary to mount, wire, and ground the satellite system,
within the above limits, will be supplied to the consumer without extra
charge.

Standard Dual-Tuner DIRECTV® DVR with TiVo Professional
Installation does not include:
Drilling through more than 1 exterior and 1 interior wall.
Phone jack wiring where existing service is more than 25 feet from
receiver.
Phone jack must be a plain old analog phone line, no digital phone switch circuits
please.
Connections to stereo and or VCRs that are not
co-located to the DIRECTV® receiver.
Special moldings or other cosmetic hardware used to hide exposed cables.
Non-penetrating roof mount, pole mount or chimney mount.
Removal and/or repair of previously mounted equipment.
EACH advanced (dual tuner) receiver (TiVo) includes 2 runs of RG-6 from
the LNB or multi-switch. Cable length included in these installations is
up to 100 feet of dual RG6 coax from LNB to the (dual tuner) receiver installed.
